G. Scott Brown is a visionary transformation guide who brings together psychology, spirituality, and nature-based healing to address the root causes of stress, fear, and violence in all its forms. He is a leading advocate for transformational activism and bringing restorative justice to bear on the full range of social and environmental issues.
Scott’s approach boils down to staying heart-centered and deepening relationships. His book, Active Peace: A Mindful Path to a Nonviolent World, is a practical guide to holistic, transformational change at the personal, interpersonal, and collective levels.
Scott’s background includes a master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology and Ecopsychology, and comprehensive training in Hakomi (body-centered) psychotherapy, nonviolent communication, and restorative justice.
His professional experience includes running the restorative justice program for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, divorce mediation, relationship coaching, mentoring youth in and out of the criminal justice system, guiding wilderness-based rites of passage, and leading experiential workshops.
Before getting on the peacemaker path Scott worked for over 15 years on the front lines of environmental activism with organizations including Greenpeace and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society. He also spent some years as an organic farmer in Nova Scotia.
